Start-stop systems use AGM or EFB batteries built to handle being drained and recharged hundreds of times a day.   1. State of charge. Resting voltage after the car has sat, which tells you whether the battery is charged, not whether it is healthy.

The rule is simple. You can go up a grade, from flooded to AGM, without a problem. You cannot go down a grade. Putting a flooded battery in a car designed for AGM will work for a few months and then it will not.
